Never seen it, but should have known. Are you getting into musicals?

Not really. It's a great film though, made the year I was born, and wears its age better than I do. Can't believe you've not seen it. Some great songs in it - Truly Scrumptious, Toot Sweet...

I enjoyed that link too Luxury.

Listening to the cricket on ABC radio, Australia have just lost 6 for 23 to be all out for 252. That's a positively Ljubljanesque collapse. Can the England revival continue.

It is a bit annoying that the commentator on the ABC keeps calling the England paceman Mar-mood.

Listening to ABC, do Aussies really say "deh-boo" for "debut"?

I say daybu - how do you say it?

Good win for England there. Bloody Collingwood!

Day-bew, stress on the 'day'. Not saying it's superior though. I have a nasty nasal Kent accent

To be fair French words don't hold much currency in Australia. I was also listening to the ABC and was more bothered by them pronouncing Sajid Marmude, but you should hear what Ian Chappell says when he tries to say Muralitharan.

There was one Aussie commentator, may have been Nevil Oliver, who couldn't say "Ramprakash". He kept saying "Ramprakrash" or variations thereof.

But never mind all that - it's celebration time fellow Poms! The Aussies have clearly peaked too soon, and Colly is officially the new Pietersen.
Now - can we win the second one and save ourselves a trip to Brizzy?

Avoiding Bizzy ought to be motivation enough.

Listened to Australia march to 100-1 before finally getting to sleep.

Saw England's last 9 overs. Tense doesn't say it! eesh. I think i'd need two hoicks (?) to reach an MSG boundary.

Ponting looked like he'd seen a pratt

From Cricinfo:

"Ned Kelly, Robert Menzies, David Campese, Kylie Minogue, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, Ian Thorpe, Yvonne Goolagong, Mel Gibson ... your boys took a hell of a beating"

I was thinking of posting along those lines. Man, that was tense. Ponting should have brought Bracken back on instead of sticking with Watson... those two fours were the catharsis moment. I did back us with 6 overs left tho.

I'd like to add Guy Pearce, their Queen and The Icicle House to that list

So how many of you English fans are beating down a path to the betting shop to put a tenner on an England World Cup victory then?

Actually you'll probably still get good odds on that - maybe I'll sling a couple of quid on myself.

But would you have come up with Skippy the Bush Kangaroo - that was a stroke of genius. Rolf Harris deserved a mention too.

Pretty exciting, wasn't it? I had to go home and watch the last few overs. There are some things more important than work. In fact, almost anything you care to mention.

What happens if Sydney's rained off. Would they share the trophy if it was one all, or would we win it on the away goals rule?

I think there'd be a replay at Lords in 10 days time.

I believe the trophy would actually be shared if it's 1-1 after three.

William Hill are offering 14-1. That's gotta be worth at least a mini-flutter.

The Aussies are 7-4 and SA 8-1.
(After 6 overs - hoho)

14 to 1 has got to be worth a fiver of anyone's money. I'll grab some of that.

7-4 is a bit of risk for a World cup though. It only takes one moment of madness to exit (like Donald and Klusener in 1999) Plus pacing a fiver on that would only bring you 3 or 4 quid back on top.

I'd say that's that then. England win. Well done. We were outplayed.

That's a ridiculously long drive just to watch an England win though. Next time I'd recommend just going downstairs to Lepa Zoga.

Missing Symonds hurts us  a bit, but I think White should have played instead of Watson.

Can we change the title of the thread back now then?

When I mentioned the series win to my girlfriend earlier, she asked me "Does this mean you have the Ashes back?".
Now there's an idea...

Will that do?

Muppet, you do realise you just posted the 1000th post on the forum  ? Joel and I were heading for it to be something about buying sweet potatoes at Ljubljana market.

I do love the fact that this thread has come Full Circle though.

Excellent.
Do I win a bottle of Kraski Teran?

In all seriousness, this forum has definitely been a roaring success.
Obviously the Amidas crowd are delighted to finally have a way to spend their days.

There are more members in Luxembourg (3) than Amidas staff (2) in this forum!

The corpse of Amidas is still twitching, just.

You're right, this forum is great

Has Craig White switched back to AUS to get a game then?

And other features apparently. Including indoor cricket.

And rain...
