Checking out

Arcade Fire - Neon Bible

to see what all the fuss is all about.

Sounds like Echo and the Bunnymen so far - which is great if you are Echo and the Bunnymen but maybe less great if you aren't.

Still, they seem to have a bee in their bonnet about the church, so maybe I like it more.

Anyone else discovered Emiliana Torrini?
Start with "Is Jesus Your Pal?", then move on to "Dead Things".

Do you get many American + Swedish Indie band doubles in Luxembourg then? I have to admit I'd never heard of either of these 2 until I Googled them to try and figure out what you meant. Either of them any good?

Me I've been watching a documentary and some YouTube clips of White aka Southern Gospel.

Before that I've been enjoying both the most recent Goldfrapp and Pet Shop boys albums. Just call me eclectic..

you get a few drifting thru. Even James Blunt was in town that night. Amandine were really great though a very moany band, in between wonderful piano-driven Swedish melody-rock. I saw norman out of Teenage Fanclub before Christmas, but I may have told you that before... that was a top show.

Not really sure what to think of them. Is the concept of a bluegrass / hillbilly AC/DC covers band actually much better than the end result? And that's coming from one of the few people in the world that prefer the bluegrass / hillbilly side to the ACDC side

Glad you enjoyed it anyway.

actually, I think it is better.... I don't think I would actually buy any ACDC stuff now (in my Australian bogon days maybe)..... I also hear the ACDC guys themselves are big fans.....  they were also better live than not, as the novalty wears off a bit, but they performance was great.

For those unfamiliar with the term

Bogun

1.Australian person, usually caucasian,of uncouth and lower class background, residing on the edge of civilisation. Characteristics of a bogun include, proudly sporting a mullet hair cut, extremely small shorts,a grease stained t-shirt underneath a flanelette shirt of some description.A bogun's natural habitat is any suburb of australia with low property values,in a house that generally has 2 or 3 cars up on bricks in the front yard with no wheels or missing vital mechanical parts. One of the cars must be a ute (utility vehicle).Boguns are genrally spotted with a stubbie(screw top beer bottle) or bong (pot smoking paraphernalia) in hand.

Got any Mullet pics you can add to another popular thread on this very forums from your Bogun days then smile ?  My own Argentinian hairdresser's nightmare is proudly displayed above my denim jacketbiggrin

Speak for yourself sir. The above description seems to serve leading toothpaste salesmen and maybe oil men, but rest assured the likes of myself, Crawford and "Slogger" Bishop are all highly respected, cultured and sophisticated gentlemen. I am certain that our team mates will vouch for us as well hmm
