knocked off an Indonesian Chicken Rendang, which was even better because I found fresh lemongrass and imported small chillies from Thailand at the market :)

I must get you to point out that Market stall to me.

Mr Golcar (all the way in from Luxuryland) , El Tres and your truly just dined on a Foie gras and poached egg starter (actually El Tres opted for the Herring) and followed it with a Duck Confit with roast garlic potatoes, and finally Pear "Cake" / "Tart" (delete where applicable) with a red fruit Coulis

No wonder there has been such "blimping out" of certain forum members.

If you are coming out of the indoor bit through to the vege bit and are standing on the little steps.... then...

Far right hand stall at the back has fresh corriander.... although "under the counter" so you have to ask

Stall immediately to his left is a lass who sells fresh lemongrass and thai chillies.

It is all good smile

Tonight I am knocking up New Zealand lamb shanks with sun dried tomatoes and mash..... speaking of blimping.

Lamb Shanks is a bloody clever find and all (I've never seen them here at all). I'd love to do some Lamb Shanks with Guiness and peas served with some boiled new potatoes, because that would be rather fine.

Is 3 triangles of mystery cheese in breadcrumbs and deep fried + tartare sauce and chips quite frankly the world's worst culinary abomination?

Mrs Pres ordered it (again) - I had a Lasagne portion I couldn't jump over and it was ****e. 0/10 for Kurentov Hram then.

Close. The cheese and onion pukka pastie must be up there.

Me today: lamentable bean-based spaghetti.
Just to be clear, the lamentable bean is not a special Andaluz variety. idea

You should have just rustled up some morels with foie sauce.

And no promoting competitors to the mighty F Bentos, if you don't mind...

We "foie'd" yesterday in Kristof's new French place that has appeared in the space where pool used to played quite seriously. Was alright.

Pukka is just Paichukka without the aich really. And as for Fray Bentos - agreed. Monsieur Luxury once brought me back as a comedy prop, but it was rather fine to tell you the truth.

Cheese and Onion pasties in plastic wraps to take home and Microwave are one of the main reasons my "The Smiths South Bank Show (circa Sept '87) inspired Vegetarian period" was such a triumphant flop. It's all I ate, basically and have never dared look at one again.

Well earlier this week I scored some fantastic fresh anchovies: glistening little silver torpedoes of deliciousness. Filleted them (head off, split them with your thumb, guts away and spine out), flash fry and Boq's your uncle. Anchovies are mighty fine.

Today I had sardines (got to love them oily fish) escabeche, and then, to show my respect for Catholic Friday traditions, a big plate of lamb's kidneys. Only littl'uns, and fug me if they didn't overcook them a little. My displeasure was incurred.

Will make up for it by drinking enormous quantities of wine and ****tails. Yes, I have a major deadline looming.

Dithering in our local Q8, with half an idea about a nice martini I thought I'd take another leap into Low-Country living and try some Oude genever - the daddy of London Gin ...

I'm rather impressed, I must say. Added a dash of olive water and there you go - a Dirty Dutch or something like that. most palatable. And what's more I see Eve's taking his batting to new heights. What's the odds he'll score more runs this season that Ross "Bunny" Taylor gets in England? If he does I'll get him a bottle of oude genever

Asparagus has featured. Often.
Today, a brisk cauliflower curry of high quality to celebrate coriander, which doesn't happen that often round these parts, all fresh herbs but parsley and mint being as Andaluz as silence and unmarked bumpers.

Thought all green food was pretty much banned in your Andaluz.

Unlike obsessive clapping, and being really short.
