who said i was proud. It was a mere comment. Personally i know i can bat better and i know i can bowl better. I just need to remember how i can do that.
Sorry - forgot to put a smiley icon thing after that previous statement. This is the home of the celebration of ineptitude and it was not a criticism. Just delighting in the crapulence that Lj CC can so often be
i dont mind if you do criticise me. As long as it is constructive. And getting me to bat better is constructive. I didnt take your comment as a bad comment, just a comment. I know we are not the greatest side in the world but if we improve (especially the slovene players) then we will prove that we can be a good team.
Ive been impressed by all the slovene players, the Bohinc trio will in time improve, it may take a season or 2 but they will make good players. Simon and Jasa will get better just need time to practise and to be guided by people like us who have played. That is why last Sunday i was constantly talking to them. Showing them the little bits that ive learnt over time from various coaches. I hope I provide some guidance even in a small capacity.
The new slimline "Vauxhall Lalanthra" took a casual 5 for 17 plus 2 run outs on top of Urban's 2 and Johnny Reja's first ball wicket. Damir bowled a combination of good stuff and wides as well.
Matt Charlesworth and Dave Farrell put on a 60 odd run partnership at the top and Johnny Reja (15) and Brad (17) hit a few as well. Neja looked more natural with the bat than Ibbotson ever did and a fine time was had by all.
No result today but remarkable for one thing. The 156 run partnership between Brad Eve (43) and Tom Furness (66) - a new 2nd wicket partnership for the club and the 2nd alltime highest ever partnership. Defending 191 off 35 overs and with them at 3 for 19 off 9 overs we'd like to think that we should have won this one too. Great fun regardless, and a good bunch of blokes from the UK enjoying a good weekend for Lj CC
Rain came in the end and proved too much of a problem to finish the match.
BTW as it was a completed innings - all stats count!
Return to footy today. Just nets, but did my running in a figure of eight rehab while ball was down the other end. Looked a right bell-end, but we must suffer a little in life.

Running, what's that? :D Me and Bradders showed some never-seen-before running between the wickets during our (and I still have no idea how we pulled it off) record-breaking partnership. Calls of walk that one out for a superbly cracked pull to the boundary for one were all too common :D
When are you back in the land of appauling cricketing feats? Rumour has it you'll be here for a month? Looking forward to it if so
Well done boys. Congratulations to Tom and Brad on the big partnership. Things seem to be going well for you these days Brad - in the runs, the Natalija Verboten rumours ...

Not rumours mate. I had the pleasure of watching her sing a couple of my tunes yesterday at an Italian recording studio. I'll keep everyone posted.
Easy win for LJCC today. Mark 49, Brad 25, Dave (retired hurt 13) scored more than them. Brad 1 for 0 (First ball), Steve Mayland 1for 6 off 6 overs Simon Kaucic 3 wickets and a catch, Jasa - debut wicket, Mike and Gregor 1 wicket a piece.
Dave (Farrell) the keeper hooked one into his own face. Only a nick but lest a nasty mark. See photos tomorrow for your own amusement.
Today we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.Oman, Furness and Eve watching with the pads on as we failed to score the 30 off the last 5 overs required.
Still, today.Matt Charlesworth 55 (debut club 50 brought up with a massive hooked 6). Nejc Zupan who on debut (after 3 trainings) bowled fast and accurate enough to take a couple of wickets and a catch - and for this correspondent, the heir to Brad's Pace crown. (Shame he had to join the Duck on Debut club though)
Rok Bohinc hit a tidy 22, Lalantha a brisk 32, Egon & Brad grabbed 2 wickets, Rok 1, Mark 1, Mike 1, Robi 1. Others apologies if I can't remember you.
A good weekend had by all, another fine bunch of tourists. We lost 186 vs 174 ish. Over and out
Scorecards to come soon, probably today. It takes a bit of time to do these, especially when we play 2 matches so I am issuing an appeal for anyone who plays and enjoys seeing their name on the internet to maybe help out a little, by maybe writing a short match report (there are only so many ways I can mention me bowling well without looking like an enormous egomaniac). I will then copy/ paste it quickly allowing me more time and freedom to put perhaps more pictures etc, get the scores entered faster. Today I will add the 2008 Stats to date for those who are interested.
Just remember that this website belongs to all of us and you are all welcome to contribute
And congrats to Matt for joining the ever-expanding 50 club...
We are starting to look slightly more useful with the bat this year. Will be interesting to see where the likes of Ryan and Davies are squeezed into our line-up.

I would be more than happy to write a report for games I play in or am there.....no worries.
Hey Brad! I was just checkig the results of the games. How can a player whose higest score was 20 have an avrege of 38. You made a mistake he scored a total of 38 runs in 4 matches, so you ow me bear:)
Hehe... I'm not sure about the stats as well, but I am sure you probably don't want a bear from Brad (even though that just might be what you'll get if you keep complaining about the scores!). A beer maybe then?
Remember that a not out means the runs roll over to the next game. So someone who has scored 38 runs and only been out once can have an average higher than his top score.
You beauty. An extra game while I'm over. I surely can't bugger up in four consecutive matches.
Can I?
Yes - one of my priorities in the new dates of these rescheduled matches was that you (and Greg) would still be floating around. The other one was so we'd have nothing in August so most of us can have a holiday in peak season :)
Actually I have had a squint at the team list so far and we're looking pretty useful. Hopefully you can squeeze yourself into the selector's good books.
Selectors accept all forms of bribes and payment, ranging from blondes to more blondes. It's time to spend your hard earned Spanish euros to ensure your cricketing summer!
Looking forward to nets this Friday. Am still bowling at feet, however, this time the batsman's!
