Did anyone here the rumour, well I'm sure it can't be true, but that when Neil Armstrong got to the moon he came across a Victorian Union Flag, two sets of stumps and a cricket bat (but no ball)?

Correct. The fact that there was no ball has led many to believe that the Victorian moon landing must have been faked.

For a minute there I thought I was in the great first lines (songs) thread. You'll never guess what idea I've just been struck by...... smile (reaching for guitar)

What to do when you only have two stumps and no bails.

Nice cavalier attitude to batsmanship, positioning the close field, watching the ball, toes and teeth. Think they nicked the Canterbury tree too.

Ultra ownage indeed. However, what does matey-boy here think he's going to do with that pool cleaning net and a sodding enormous crocodile?

I think you may well have outed yourself as a closet fan of "the Rus" as you have now posted him a few times. A sneaking respect perhaps? A new cult hero? He's playing pretty well to give him his dues, but he is sporting a bit of a mullet so we can't take him too seriously.

He really annoyed me in the trouncing of England, but I've warmed to him and he's my cult hero for this WC. The new King James goatee is a great touch. He also came across as highly pleasant and articulate in a postmatch interview yesterday.

Six innings, ave. 126, 8 wkts at 21, he could turn out to be the player of the competition.

smile

And to be fair to The Rus, that's a 'cap mullet'. Anyone with anything more than a grade 2 all over gets one of those ...

Aye, and not the happiest one-day strip you'll see. Very poor, very Nationwide.

I don't think I've seen enough of Allott to make a judgement, but I was struck by how old he looked. He's obviously moved on from the days when he looked like Paul Calf.

It comes to us all.

I opened the bowling attack with this ...person...a few years ago....and even I achieved better bowling figures .....on that day...

Jack Iverson's mystery grip

Jack Iverson's mystery grip. Interesting story, has anyone read the Gideon Haigh book?

Heh.

Look at the state of the ball. Even I'd take wickets with that, on a Valburga turner.
