Surrey require another 379 runs with 3 wickets remaining ... for all you Yorkshire fans out there, looks like an away win open the county championship account this season! Champion, indeed.

Yep, that won't please Surrey on their home ground.
Meanwhile, over in Taunton, the captain of Somerset, a certain J Langer, has been rather splendidly taking the p1ss against Middlesex. In reply to Middlesex's 600/4 declared, he himself chose to declare after they'd made their way to the princely total of 850/7 (Langer 315). He played just one first-class innings for Somerset last season, against Surrey at Guildford, which I had the pleasure of watching in absolutely baking heat. On that occasion he made 342, so he's obviously got a real problem with getting out just after reaching 300. A mental thing, I reckon.
Oh, and apparently England have beaten some team by 1 wicket with a ball to spare in some cup match or other.
First of the semi-finals today. I'm feeling that it may just be a Sri Lanka day today, but then again wouldn't be surprised if either team romped home. I think Jayasuriya is the danger man. If he scores Sri Lanka should win. Hopefully it will be a classic battle. New Zealand's bowling (although without Bond and Oram) looked rather fragile in the last game. Sri Lanka with Murali, Vaas and Malinga should be a much tougher threat than Bond, Vettori and the others.
Has anyone ever gone through a WC playing every game match but never batting?
Thinking that neither Anderson or future England no. 8 Monty Panesar have batted yet.
Glenn Mcgrath and Shaun Tait didn't put the pads on once. Nathan Bracken was rested for one match but didn't bat in the other ten. (Stuart Clark replaced him and didn't bat either)
