OK. You've found a great website and you want to share it with everyone. Here's the place to do it.

I'll start with this one the dialectizer

Choose your chosen dialect and read your favourite site in another dialect. ****ney and redneck were good for www.ljcricket.com!

This one had me laughing, too. This guy is genuinely nuts.

Steve, don't eat it!

Fear not if "Steve, don't eat it" (still amazed by this one) put you off, here's a silly little thread that will possibly drive you crazy if you stare at it too long.

One of my all time favourites.

Something to stare at and go insane to (fun)

and while I'm here - here's a very strange ad for a shopping centre

Not great, but geekily timewasting: competitive geography here.

I love the dialectizer

Me I'm a sucker for competitive Geography. Has anyone ever got closer than 40 kms to any town you have to click on the map. Have done that 3 times now but never less than 40

I've just noticed that it censored the name of the famous London Rhyming slang. Bizarre.

i love the competitive! I got one 40 but nothing below that on the world level- quite proud of being within 5k of Reims, Tetovo and Bremerhaven on the Europe map though.

I'm a huge fan of NewsBiscuit. The idea of having satirical news stories on a spoof website isn't a new one, but these ones are funny, and there's a new story every day.

It also has the added twist of allowing you to submit your own stories, uncensored, on the Submissions Board. If it's good enough, the editors will polish it up and make it one of the main stories on the site.

Every story submitted can be ranked by everyone who reads it, and there's an ongoing Top 10 most popular. I briefly had a story at #1 once, about ASBOs being sold on e-Bay...

DOES YOU VOICEMAIL PROMISE A BLACKHOLE CONVERSATION?

I saw this recently, with some amer'kin giving advice on how to leave a voicemail

The ending of his article is quite bewildering:

He sets off with a 5 or 6 point list of tips and then goes on to finish like this:

Which Calls Would You Return?

To bring these points to life, here are three actual voicemails that I received (all personal details and contact information have been changed):

• Caller No. 1: "Hello, Mr. Citrin. My name is Dick White from Bain and Company. I'm a third-year associate and I'm looking to make a move out of management consulting into general management, either in technology or media. I understand you work with executives and clients in these areas. I would appreciate it if we could get together to discuss my background. My number is (646) 555-1234 and my email is richardbwhite@bain.com."

• Caller No. 2: "Hello, Jim, this is Kate Peters and I'm calling regarding a reference for your former colleague, Tony Thompson. We're speaking to Tony about potentially joining our company. Can you please call me over the next two to three days so that I can get your views on his strengths, weaknesses, and potential fit with our organization? If it's easier, I can have my office schedule a call with you so we can avoid phone tag. My office number is (212) 555-5678."

• Caller No. 3: "Hello, Jim, this is Dennis Lions. I'm a fellow Vassar grad from the class of 1998 and I'm currently working at a small Internet company in Palo Alto. I have a difficult decision that I need to make in the next 48 hours. Can I run it by you? It'll only take five to seven minutes of your time. My office number is (650) 555-9101, my cell is (650) 555-1121, and my email is dlions@dlions.com. Thank you very much in advance."

Who Got the Callbacks

Which calls do you think I returned?

I returned the calls of callers two and three, but deleted No. 1 with only a small pang of guilt. His call promised to be a black-hole conversation, there was no specific bridge to me, and he sounded fairly junior (meaning unrealistic but not necessarily young) on the phone.

Does a copy of this briefly held number 1 position still exist? Link us.. I'm sure some of us would like to read it.

Not sure if it qualifies as really cool, but The Corridor (a cricket blog) is worth a look.

By the way El Prez those blue things you posted above are amazing!
Like the music too

The blue ball thing is very good indeed. Much cheaper than a night on the sauce for the same effect. The music is bloody fantastic, but as it repeats ad nauseum it can get on your nerves a little.

Ohhhh, go on then...

http://newsbiscuit.com/board/26/94//ASBOs-now-available-on-e-Bay.html

Amazed it was still there actually. The average score of 6.59 is down on the starting average of 7.91

I gave it a 10 for you, but it doesn't seem to have raised the 6.59 average, but I did try

For emergency live football in the comfort of your own PC, this site is pretty handy.
Of the various streaming things ppstream seems to work best, but the TVU player is also handy for Sky (via Star Sports).

Would that mean cricket on Sky could be a feasable proposition?

Not sure. Depends whether it's on Star or one of the other networks that are easier to steal.

I've gone one better: this time they liked my story so much they made it the main story for yesterday!
