A shameless plug...

Almost exactly 10 years after the first match in Slovenia, Macedonia has finally taken up the game.

Now the plug.....

The match was organised this summer by the British Business Group in Macedonia, a new organisation set up to promote business contacts between the UK and Macedonia.

Unlike with cricket, it is Macedonia that has shown the lead here, as no such equivalent organisation exists in Slovenia....yet!

However, moves are afoot to establish such a group in the very near future and hopefully within a few weeks it will be operating.  Anyone interested in either joining or supporting the group, or maybe organising a match against our Macedonian colleagues next summer, please email me at dmsmith70@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks for your attention!

They did brilliantly well in organising this. There were something like 400 people there, including the Prime Minister. They had corporate hospitality for 200. Shows what can be done.

The organisers were keen on trying for a Balkan tournament. Keep the board abreast of any developments, please.

Thanks, Angus.

Will do. We have a meeting on Monday of next week to formally constitute the new British-Slovenia Chamber of Commerce and I will be raising this idea, along with others. I have also been in contact with Ray Power, in Skopje, who was instrumental in oranising the match in Macedonia. He is very enthusiastic about the possibility.

I will let you know how it goes in the next week or so.

Cheers

Dave
