in a move that should certainly please Paichukka - Michael Vaughan has stood down as England's One Day Captain.

Paul Collingwood is favourite to get the job or Kevin Pietersen. Any thoughts?

I think Collingwood would be a good choice, but whoever gets the job has to be captaining the best team there is - which England hasn't had for a long time now. So no Lewis or Mahmood, pick Hoggard.

According to Test Match SPecial, Vaughn was told he was dropped as captain, so he's just giving the modern political spin to the affair.

He didn't mentioned wanting to spend more time with his county-family.

Might be fun if KP were captain, but I imagine Colly'll get the nod. He's certainly a top 1-day cricketer.
